The real Mt Sinai.

In the Sinai Peninsula there is a mountain that is called Mt Sinai. However this mountain is not the one that the Lord came down on, or where Moses received the 10 commandments.

The real Mt Sinai is located in Saudi Arabia, and although there is some confusion about the name of this mountain, we will call it "Jebel el Lawz", which is what Ron Wyatt, Archaeologist, called it.

Jebel el Lawz, which means "mountain of almonds", is not a volcano, however, the rock on the top of the mountain is discolored and shows signs of being subject to high heat (molten), where the Lord came down.

At the base of this mountain there is a number of artifacts, showing occupation for a period of time. There are drawings on the rocks showing the Egyptian god Apis, the bull, god of fertility and strength, (molten calf?) and also a menorah.

There is no access to this site, a fence surrounds it, as it is a Saudi military post.

And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

Meribah. Water from the Rock.

At Meribah (near Mt Sinai), there is a rock that has a huge split down it. The rock is 16 meters (or more) high.

At the foot of this rock, there is evidence of a large flow of water, for a long period.

God provided for His people, Israel, by bringing water from the most impossible place, that water could ever come from.

What a mighty provider.

Exodus 17:6-7,
6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
7 And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

Psalm 78:15-16,
15 He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.
16 He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
